(LtoR) Beaner - Sadie - Jake - Scooter

 In Loving Memory of Scooter.

Scooter was my grooming client 4 1/2 years ago. He was a 9 year old West highland terrier.   His owner was a regular client so my husband and I grew fond of Scooter.  After a while his owner could no longer afford the grooming and upkeep for scooter, so my husband and I decided to continue the grooming and vet bills along with food and supplies for her and Scooter…And that is how the Many Paws Reach Out Program started.

Eventually Scooters owner took ill and could no longer keep him so she asked my husband Mike and I to take Scooter, so we adopted him.  He loved tug of war, and being the ‘Big Daddy’ of our pack of dogs; he was also the smallest of our pack but he kept everyone in check.   Scooter was a lot of fun and he helped other dogs and cats become comfortable here at our little sanctuary of unwanted misfits we call ourselves!

Scooter loved to look out the window and people watch.  He did this all day until the day he could no longer jump up on the couch by the window.  He gave me that look we all know, it was time.  So I placed Scooter on the couch and propped him by the window to watch the world go by one last time until my husband, mike came home to take us to the vet.  Scooter passed away peacefully in my arms on Thursday.  He will always be the inspiring reason for our help with the seniors, Disabled and Retired Veteran pet owners who need help with their pets.

MANY PAWS

REACH-OUT PROGRAM

Helping our areas Senior, Disabled and Retired Veteran

Pet Owners better care for their pets

Providing low cost pet grooming TO THOSE WHO QUALIFY.

Donating pet food, treats, toys, collars, leashes, blankets, rugs, pillows, cages, crates and any other donated pet supplies we can offer senior and disabled pet owners, to help them better care for their pets.

M.P.R.P. was started by Mike and Peggy Horvath at their business, AFFORDABLE PET SERVICES 4 1/2 years ago as a way to help area Senior, Retired Veterans and Disabled Pet Owners’ better care for their pets.

People make comments,”Well if they cant afford a pet, they shouldn’t have a pet.” but these pets are the reason some of these people need to get out of bed and function everyday.

For some, their pet is all the family they have and they will go without to have the money to feed their pets.

That unconditional love that pet gives to these people is more therapeutic then any medicine and keeps some of these people who are lonely, going another day…why shouldn’t these people be able to have that in their lives?

It is mainly only a groomers EFFORT that you pay for when your pet is in need of grooming. Sure there is shampoo cost, water usage and the electric from the dryer, but lets be serious…it doesn’t take much money to groom a dog or cat!

Most of the Senior and disabled pet owners would, if they could, keep their pets in the finest condition…but their retirement and pensions do not go up yearly like our gas prices and economy does.

We do offer free Pick up and Delivery available only to those who qualify!
